Trans Canada Trail accepting project funding proposals until September 30

The Trans Canada Trail (TCT) is currently accepting proposals for projects related to The Great Trail.

Proposed projects should correspond with the development objectives and priorities of the provincial TCT partner organization, which in this case is the Nova Scotia Trails Federation. If your group is interested in applying, please contact NS Trails to see if your project is eligible.

The submission deadline is September 30, 2017.

To be fair to every applicant, all eligible expenses will be capped to a maximum. Since TCT doesn’t know how many applications or what types of projects they will receive, applicants should consider a maximum grant of 35% in their budget. The following caps were approved for the Connection Plan by the TCT board:

  • $25,000 / km for trail construction
  • $250,000 / unit for infrastructure
  • $25,000 / units per access point, rest areas, staging area
