Volunteers form a foundation of support as strong as the bedrock beneath our beautiful province. They dedicate their time and energy to make trails in Nova Scotia a reality, and here are two great opportunities to recognize them provincially and nationally:
Nomination deadline: Friday, Feb. 3, 2017
Celebrate Canada’s culture of volunteering! You have until February 3, 2017 to nominate a not-for-profit organization, an individual/group of volunteers or a business.
Award winners will be recognized at a ceremony and will be able to choose a not-for-profit organization to receive a grant of $5,000 (regional award) or $10,000 (national award).

Nominate a volunteer in the following categories:
- Representative Volunteer Award
Each NS municipality selects one representative volunteer per year to attend the Provincial Volunteer Awards Ceremony. Contact your local municipality to inquire about criteria and how to nominate a deserving volunteer.
- Youth Volunteer Award
Recognize a volunteer aged 13 to 24 who has made a significant contribution to a range of causes, for at least two years. Visit the Provincial Volunteer Awards website for full criteria and nomination forms.
- Family Volunteer Award
Nominate a family of three or more people who have demonstrated volunteer leadership and consistent caring for their community for at least 5 years. Visit the Provincial Volunteer Awards website for full criteria and nomination forms.
