Chignecto Ship Railway Trans Canada Trail section opens

The Cumberland Snowmobile Club is pleased to announce the completion and opening of the Chignecto Ship Railway Trans Canada Trail.  A small celebration and ceremony will be held on Monday, September 12th at 11:30am on the trail at the Pipeline Shelter in Tidnish, NS.


This is the culmination of a three-year project with funding contributions in excess of $303,000 from the following agencies:

  • National Trails Coalition
  • Municipality of the County of Cumberland
  • Snowmobilers Association of Nova Scotia
  • Nova Scotia Off Highway Vehicle Infrastructure Fund
  • Trans Canada Trail

This 45km section of trail connects Nova Scotia and New Brunswick near Tidnish and travels south to the town limits of Oxford, NS.
